DIARY: Ashford 5k

I am strongly considering racing tomorrow's Ashford 5k to get a clearer understanding of my current form.

Based on my 3000m at Rathdrum a few weeks ago, I should be able to run 18:05 tomorrow if I'm fresh. My hamstrings are still tired after Annacurra, however, so it would be a risk with Trooperstown in mind.

In this case, an early morning decision is in order. 18:05 would represent a betterment of 43 seconds on my result from Rathfarnham 5k in autumn of 2007 (my 5k run so far) and would put me closer to my annual target of 17:30.

Decisions, decisions, this one will be tough to make especially as the race is a the Road County Championships here in Wicklow and a great chance to run with a strong crowd of runners.
