DIARY: Disaster Day

After several positive weeks, Sunday saw a major setback. The slight niggle in my knee that has been bothering me on and off for three weeks suddenly became a major issue as I was running in Marlay Park.

Going down the grassy slope, my left knee started to be in quite some time and I had to cease running. Attempts to start jogging again were in vain, and I had to walk a few kilometres back to the carpark.

I’ve used the standard RICE method (Rest-Icing-Compression-Elevation) and I have no problems walking but moving downstairs causes a bit of discomfort and I haven’t attempted to run since. This injury seems very odd so I have booked myself back into the Carysfort Clinic and must probably face the prospect of losing at least 1 week of training, even in the best case
